The Incredible Features of the PS3 Controller

The PS3 controller has a lot of features on it that makes it an amazing piece of hardware. Besides the basic which is allowing you to play the game, the controller also adds a lot of extras you may or may not have noticed.

The most important feature is probably the wireless capability. The wireless technology used in the PS3 controller is Bluetooth which can be quite powerful. Because it is Bluetooth, this allows the PlayStation 3 console to support up to 7 controllers (which does not happen much in the games). The Bluetooth also allows the controller to be playable on the PSP Go.

If you are not a fan of using a wireless controller, then you can plug it into the PlayStation console through USB. Doing this will also charge the controller if the battery on it is low.

Another feature on the PS3 controller that is noticeable is the clear button in the direct center of it. This button sports the PlayStation logo, and when it is pressed, a menu pops up showing the battery life of the controllers. As far as battery life goes, the controller can go up to 30 hours on of lifetime on the battery.

At the top of the controller, there are 4 LEDs which light up based on which player you are. However, the console can support up to 7 players, so for the games that use 5-7 players, then multiple LEDs light up (for example, player 5 has LEDs 4 and 1 light up). This helps you know which player you are in the game.

A huge feature of the PS3 controller is its Sixaxis technology. This Sixaxis technology gives the controller both rotational orientation and translational acceleration along all three dimensions. This allows motion sensing to occur in games so games can add features like tilting the PS3 controller to move a plane or car.

The PS3 controller has a lot of features. The vast amount of features that is has makes it a great controller.
